Doors of Hope Transition Ministries
The mission of Doors of Hope Transition Ministries is to guide homeless families and families at-risk of becoming homeless towards self-reliance and stability through a holistic, individualized approach that includes life-skills training, mentoring, and supportive housing. Clients receive intensive and comprehensive case management services and the family is able to stay together.
United Way helps fund their Self-sufficiency Transitional Empowerment Program (STEP). STEP provides housing for homeless families and address health, education, employment, savings, and debt repayment. Upon completion of Phase 1, families are able to set up sustainable housing outside the shelter unit. Families are able to remain in sustainable housing upon completion of Phase 2. Through this stability, children in these families are able to thrive. STEP seeks to promote long-term change for homeless families.
