FY 2019-2020 Funded Programs

The United Way of Oxford & Lafayette County (UWOLC) awarded grant funds totaling $200,000 for fiscal year (FY) 2019-2020. The programs and community coalitions receiving grant funding through the UWOLC improve lives and meet community needs by promoting good health, quality education, and stable incomes throughout the Lafayette-Oxford-University (LOU) community.

Please note all award recommendations and decisions are locally driven by UWOLC board members as well as other community volunteers who serve on advisory committees that review the grant applications. The applications are grouped into the UWOLC's four focus areas (health, education, financial stability, and basis needs) as well as a fifth advisory committee for community coalitions. The aforementioned volunteers review applications within their applicable category and score them based on specified criteria in order to help ensure the programs and coalitions receiving grant awards address significant needs in our community. The UWOLC Board of Directors receives award recommendations from the Community Impact Committee (CIC), which is comprised of the advisory committee chairs, and votes upon the final grant allocations. The process helps ensure donations received by the UWOLC have a meaningful impact.
