Partner Agencies


American Red Cross
Provides Relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies through services that are consistent with its congressional charter and the fundamental principles of the Internation Red Cross movement.

Boys and Girls Club
Provides an after-school program each weekday as well as summer day camp; mission is to inspire and enable all youth to realize their full potential as productive,responsible and caring citizens.

Boy Scouts
Youth-serving agency for boys from first grade to 21 years of age. Also, for girls ages 13-21. Proud tradition of preparing young people for leadership with character building programs that instill timeless values.

Exchange Club Family Services
Works with families, first-time teen mothers and school-aged children to educate and attempt to reduce the risk of child abuse. Also offers anger management groups and a Grandparents Raising Grandchildren support group and SCAN
(Stop Child Abuse and Neglect), a puppet show school program.

Family Crisis Services
Provides 24-hour crisis intervention,counseling, legal advocacy and referral for victims of child abuse, sexual assault,and friends and family of homicide victims.Provides comprehensive family services including support groups and counseling.Provides prevention education throughout the community.

Girl Scouts
Organization dedicated solely to girls where they build character and skills for success in the real world and, in partnership with committed adults, develope strong values and conviction about their potential and self-worth.


Interfaith Compassion Ministry
Collaborative effort among local churches to provide assistance with basic needs such as rent, utilities and prescription drug program in a centralized location to individuals in Lafayette County who face crisis situations; law clinic available for individuals with legal questions.

Lafayette County 4-H
Works with youth 8-18 years of age. Through leadership activities and handson programs the youth develop skills and abilities to become productive citizens of the county, state, and country.

Leap Frog
After-school tutoring and enrichment program for first and second grades; serves 90 students in three locations.

Literacy Council
Committed to raising the level of literacy in Lafayette County. Promotes literacy as a value in every family by providing free children’s books, parent education and one-on-one adult tutoring; helps peoplelearn to read, so that they can read to learn.

Meals on Wheels
Delivers meals to homebound and elderly of Oxford and Lafayette County.

North MS Kidney Foundation
The mission of the Kidney Foundation is to provide support services such as medication, transportation, and emergency financial assistance to patients of the dialysis units in North Mississippi.

The Pantry
All-volunteer organization that provides a family in need with a one-week’s supply of food and staples; screening and food distribution every Wednesday and Thursday. The Pantry aids a family in need twice a year and elderly residents every four weeks. Those who are temporarily out of work, have unusually high medical bills, single mothers with limited resources and families who have lost their homes due to fire accidents, with a referral from the Red Cross, are the most common clients.

Salvation Army

Provides local residents with financial assistance for utilities, medication and clothing; provides furniture and clothing for victims of fires and other emergencies.

Special Olympics
Year-round sports training and programming for persons with mental retardation. Local, area, state, regional and international events; 24 sports.

Very Special Arts
Promotes the creative power in people with disabilities through the fine arts.
