FY 2020-2021 Grant Awards

The United Way of Oxford-Lafayette County (UWOLC) awarded $200,000 in grant funding for fiscal year (FY) 2020-2021. The grant recipients enable the UWOLC to improve lives and meet community needs throughout the Lafayette-Oxford-University (LOU) community by promoting good health, quality education, and stable incomes.

All award recommendations and decisions are locally driven by UWOLC board members as well as other community volunteers who serve on advisory committees that review the grant applications the organization receives. Applications are grouped into the UWOLC's four focus areas (health, education, financial stability, and basis needs) and volunteers score them based on specified criteria to help ensure the initiatives will address significant needs in the LOU community. The UWOLC Board of Directors receives award recommendations from the Community Impact Committee (CIC), which is comprised of the advisory committee chairs, and votes upon the final grant allocations. The process ensures the donations the UWOLC receives will have a meaningful impact.
